SPECIFICATION

From easy free ride to high wind, rough conditions, super-fast and secure slalom; this fin covers it all. When you need added control and want the board to lock: this is the right fin for you. Normally fins without a true objective might sound not that exiting but the whale might well be the most underestimated fin in our line when in reality it might offer THE solution for those who look for added control and speed in conditions which normally are too challenging to feel safe. So whether you are a freerider learning to glide on a lake or a World Cup rider driving your board down the course in grueling Fuerte conditions the Whale might be the tool for you.

The Whale is based on a humpback whale flipper. Olivier’s concept ‘Whale bumps’ is our showcase fin and can only be ordered on special demand. It feels exactly like the normal whale without bumps, but with more power and stability at low speed and serves its purpose just as nicely as a piece of art on the wall. It shows the finish quality of our home made fin products.

GRAPH EXPLANATION:

The board sits a little deeper with a low nose angle. Speeds stay controllable. In theory the fin is less fast than the UFO or Katana Race. In reality for anyone there comes a moment in which possible end speed is less important than safety. This is when you should seriously consider putting this amazing fin under your board.

The whale is best suited for intermediate riders who seek added control, or experts who know and understand in given conditions it’s not anymore about pure possible top-end speed but a possible optimum speed for the given conditions. After all, lab-like Luderitz speeds would blow even World Cup riders apart when conditions get rough. So, don’t be afraid to go a little slower when challenged to the limits. In more than one way this fin is meant for the daring windsurfers amongst us.

Out of the high aspect fin range, the Whale requires the lowest skill level.
