Starboard Aluminium Freeride Evolution

In 2017, Starboard Foils introduced the Original foil collection that immediately set a new performance benchmark. This generation brought with it innovations such as the racing geometry, the carbon/metal hybrid construction and the all-torx assembly system - innovations adopted today by most other foil brands.

In 2019, we introduced the revolutionary High Efficiency Geometry with the Plus generation. By moving the front wing forward, the tail wing could be set at a lower angle, significantly increasing flight efficiency and control.

2021 saw the launch of the Evolution generation with its streamlined front wing mounting system.

Today, we launch the Evolution MkII generation that features a super-streamlined tail shape.

THE EVOLUTION MKII FUSELAGE

• Evolution MkII fuselages keep the same streamlined nose section - so front wings remain compatible.
• The mast fitting also remains the same, offering mast compatibility across all Starboard Foils masts
• The tail shape is new. More streamlined, we gain speed and efficiency although we sacrifice compatibility with older tail wings - going forwards, only Evo MkII tail wings will be compatible with the new fuselage.

*With the Original and Plus generations, the fuselage extended beyond the front wing and behind the tail wing. With the Evolution MkII generation, the fuselage starts behind the front wing leading edge and ends before the tail wing trailing edge. The Evo MkII 109 therefore sounds like it's shorter than the 115 Plus fuselage, for example, but the wing positions are actually equivalent.

**The exception is with the Evolution MkII 120 fuselage: this  fuselage aims to maximise the Formula Foil 120cm limit so the wings are further apart on the Evo MkII 120 compared to the Plus 120.
